Web server

HTTP/1.0 web server, compatible with any standard browser.
Serves pages stored on server computer's hard disc.
Runs CGI scripts, including ones in BBC BASIC.
Users can have their own web pages with the standard server/~username style of URL.
ANT Fresco users can take advantage of Fresco's web publishing features, and edit their web pages from any client computer.
Industry-standard server log files.

Caching web proxy

HTTP/1.0 web proxy, compatible with any standard browser.
Caches pages on server computer's hard disc.
Interacts with user database to allow or disallow particular sites to particular users.
Reliable and fast.

Email server

IMAP4 and SMTP servers, compatible with modern email programs.
"Access from anywhere" technology keeps all email on server computer.
Interacts with user database to allow or disallow email use.

News server

NNTP/NNRP server, compatible with any standard newsreader.
Both local-only and worldwide newsgroups supported.
Interacts with user database to allow or disallow news reading and posting.

FTP server

FTP server, compatible with any standard browser or FTP program.
Supports both anonymous FTP, and FTP to users' own directories.
Interacts with user database to allow or disallow access on a per-user basis.

Name server

DNS server, compatible with any standard client.
Converts ('resolves') computer names, such as news.bbc.co.uk, into IP addresses, such as 193.130.149.132.
Lets you enter your server as the 'Name server' in the ANT Internet Suite's configuration window.
Uses the server computer's Hosts file, as well as full Internet DNS.

BootP server

Dynamically allocates IP addresses to client computers.
Lets you run one site-licence copy of the ANT Internet Suite, from a network fileserver, and have it automatically configure each client computer with a valid IP address.
