Thanks for visiting the APDL section of RISCOS.com. Here you will find commercial software products that were published by APDL between 1989 and 2014. You will also find the complete APDL PD library and the RISCWorld magazine 'Just the Words' collection.

The links on the left side of this page take you to the various sections of the APDL website:

• Home will bring you back to this page.
• About this page has a brief history of APDL as well as further information on the new APDL site. It also has a link to the FAQ section of this site.
• Software this takes you to the catalogue page that holds links to all the products that are currently available.
• PD Library opens the introduction page of the PD (Public Domain) library. All the pages are shown in plain text as this is how the library was presented when content was supplied on floppy discs.
• RISCWorld will open the introductory page for Foundation RISCWorld magazine with details on the RISCWorld archive and links to the issues or article indexes.

The new 2026 version of APDL?

If you are familar with the old APDL websites you will notice that this new site is completely different. Perhaps the most important difference is that all the commercial APDL software packages are now available free of charge. If you click on the 'Software' link on the panel to the left you will be taken to the main software catalogue. Click on the product you want to download, agree to the plain English licence and then download it. All downloads are stored in RISC OS format zip files so please don't open the zip files on any OS other than RISC OS.

What's coming next?

This site is only the start of the 'new' APDL. We are still working on further APDL software titles which we hope the make available later this year. We won't publish further applications one at a time instead we want to put a number of titles out at the same time as 'APDL Release 2'. APDL published well over a hundred commercial titles and even so some of them are very niiche we want to save everything we can and make as much as possible available for free download.

Donations

If you like what we've done and would like to help pay towards the hosting and help fund the release of further APDL products that would be marvelous but it's totally optional. If you do decide to make a donation the button to do is is on the left under the site navigation buttons.
