ClipNet is a client application for our MrClippy clipart manager. It's designed to be installed on any client machines whilst a full copy of Mr Clippy (Version 1.41 or later) runs on the server. ClipNET only allows users to view, load & use existing clip art stored in Mr Clippy. Users cannot add, delete or modify any of the files.

ClipNET is designed to keep network traffic to a minimum.

All files are transferred across the network compressed and are then un-compressed locally. We do not recommend trying to run the main Mr Clippy application over the network as this can result in a lot of file transfers.

Unless you are running a RISC OS network with a server running RISC OS ClipNET won't be any use, so there's no point trying to set it up. ClipNET will not work on a network controlled by our SerialNET application.

ClipNET is designed to store all your clip art in one easy to use application. Simply drop directories containing clips onto Mr Clippy and go and have a cup of tea. Mr Clippy handles all common clip art file formats and will make it easy to find that awkward clip.

Handles Draw, ArtWorks, Sprites, JPEGS, TIFF, GIFF and Windows Bitmap files.
Also handles Windows Metafiles when used with ImageFs 2.
Import as a Sprite, export as Thumbnail, Sprite or JPEG files.
Handles CD's and clips stored in Archives.
Store clips inside Mr Clippy or leave them on the source media.
View clips 1 at a time, or on preview pages.
Simple "tape recorder" style controls.
Supports multiple clips with the same name.
Displays large size thumbnails complete with the clips size, date etc.
Able to handle over ½ million clips in up to 77 named groups.
Prints out thumbnail sheets in mono or in full colour.
Locate clips by name, partial name or from a clip menu.
Easily flips between groups and clips.
Remembers which clip and group you were last looking at when he is quit.
The only clip art manager recommended by Smart DTP the authors of PublishART.
Requires Risc Os 3.1 or later, a hard disk and 1Mb of RAM (2Mb recommended).
ClipNET uses !ChangeFSI for some image processing.
